BODY MUSIC – interactive music (8'00")

BODY MUSIC is an interactive composition in which music and dance are closely integrated.

It is an audio-stage piece performed by a dancer - Dominika Prytula, who initiates music with her body movement. This is possible thanks to the use of the latest technology used in electroacoustic music - an interactive device called DanceFormer. Thanks to it, the dancer can modulate the composed music very organically through movement - trigger sounds and change its parameters based on the composition's score.

Through dance and music, the mythical story of the Sumerian goddess of love, Ishtar, is told. She takes a symbolic journey through death and rebirth. Ishtar sets off on a dangerous journey to the land of the dead to gain power over it. However, her mission ends in death, which leads to the disappearance of love and the withering of nature. Ultimately, thanks to the intervention of the god Enki, Ishtar is revived, and harmony and love return to earth.

DanceFormer is a unique device constructed especially for the composer by the engineer - artist Michal Silski.
