MARZENA MAJCHER is a Polish film and contemporary music composer and guitarist. She has written music for more than fifty Polish and international films - feature films (Amateurs, A French Woman, Hanoi–Warsaw, Forest Killer), documentaries (Furia, When the Fire Sleeps), animated films (Miracle, Dudi), TV Series and for the first Musical Setting of TVP Culture.

She graduated in Composition from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under Krzysztof Knittel, and Classical Guitar in the Academy of Music in Lodz.

She is a laureate of the "Amadeus Composition Award" (Vienna, 2023), "Grand Prix Komeda" (2021), Award for Best Music for an Animated Film from the Polish Filmmakers Association (2025).

Her works have been performed in such prestigious concert halls as the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw, St. Mary's Basilica in Gdansk, and the Koszalin Philharmonic.

She creates orchestral, chamber and electronic music. Her film scores are distinguished by an original, contemporary sound shaped by the fusion of acoustic instruments and electronics, enriched with her own techniques of sound preparation and processing.

Her latest album, DNA Code Music (Requiem Records, 2025), is a string quartet work inspired by the structure of the DNA genetic code, performed by NeoQuartet — one of the leading European string quartets. Her discography also includes:

She has collaborated internationally with directors from Korea, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Germany, including: Kim Hee-Jung, Eri Mizutani, Radim Spacek, and Peter Vogt. In Poland, she has worked with many acclaimed filmmakers such as Iwona Siekierzynska, Katarzyna Klimkiewicz, Mariusz Wilczynski, Grzegorz Krolikiewicz, Krzysztof Kasior, Malgorzata Lupina, Piotr Chrzan, and Leszek Madzik.

She also composes contemporary instrumental, electroacustic and interactive music with using modern technologies, including her own interactive devices: Exformer and Danceformer. Her works often draw inspiration from science: DNA Code Music for string quartet (2025), The Code of Life for orchestra (2022), Chemistry of Love for soprano and string quartet (2019), and TransLocation - electroacoustic music for voice and virtual instruments (2021).

She performs regularly, and her compositions are often presented as multimedia projects with film visuals by Andrzej Wojciechowski. Her music has been featured at international festivals such as: Audio Art Festival (Krakow), Music Festival Ecos Urbanos (Mexico City), Warsaw Music Encounters, Capella Angelica Festival (Gdansk), International Festival of Contemporary Music and Visual Arts (Bydgoszcz), Audio Stage (Warsaw), OFF Camera International Festival (Krakow), U:NEW Dance Wave Festival (Warsaw), the International Nature Film Festival (Lodz), EC1 (Lodz), and the Museum of Modern Art (New York).

She has recorded her music with the Sinfonia Viva Orchestra, string quartets NeoQuartet, Etnosomnia, and NSQ Quartet, as well as with renowned musicians including: Agata Zubel, Krzysztof Baranowski, Michal Palka-Keff, Milosz Pekala, Dominik Kisiel, Piotr Szlempo, and Irwin Wojciechowski.

She is a member of the artistic associations ZAiKS, SFP, PSeME, and SAWP.
